Greater Houston is enormous. Start by picking the corridor that matches your commute and lifestyle — I-45 North for The Woodlands, Shenandoah and Conroe; US-290 for Cypress and Jersey Village; the Inner Loop for Bellaire and Spring Branch. Narrowing the map first keeps your home search from sprawling across 60 miles.
Texas has no state income tax, but property tax rates and Municipal Utility District assessments vary widely from one subdivision to the next.
